Shawn Heidgen started racing bikes in the Chicago area in 1992. She raced for South Chicago Wheelmen, Pepsi, and then ABD before racing professionally for TDS/Schwalbe from 2003-2005 and competing at national and international levels. Shawn has played many roles since then: coaching cyclists of all abilities; organizing training camps worldwide; owning an indoor cycle-specific training center; developing women’s cycling garments; promoting races; and working as a data/power file analyst. Currently, she is the Director of North American Operations for Verve Cycling and also coaches a select number of athletes including professional riders Maura Kinsella (Optum) and Patricia Schwager (TIBCO) for ALP Cycles Coaching with Alison Powers.
